We are

TOEWS & BALE

It’s so nice to meet you.

Hello! We are Warren & Pam.
That’s us up there with our wildlings.

Warren has over twenty five years of experience baling. During the past two decades, he has developed and perfected a system that allows us to seed, grow, harvest, and store the highest-quality bales.

While Grandpa is theoretically now retired — you may not know it if you met him — he still helps us create processes and tools to optimize our operation. We couldn’t be more grateful for his inventions.

Three generations on the land

Warren

Born and raised in the tiny town of Waskatenau (300 people!) Warren always knew he had farming in his blood. Both of his parents came from farming families and throughout his childhood he had a love of horses, it all just made sense. Horses need quality feed. So, he bought his first farm in 1999 and focused on quality service and quality bales ever since.

Pam

Pam joined the farm in 2016, with familial agricultural roots herself — her maternal grandparent’s homestead is 5 miles away from our current farm. She has a corporate background but considers herself a city girl gone country. She has embraced the agricultural assignment creating her own flower farming adventure over at www.poppywynn.com

Kiddos

We believe in bringing our kids to work, and at 2, 4 and 7, they couldn’t be more thrilled. Our little girl and 2 boys love the farm life and get their fair share of play, jumping on the bales and hopping through muddy puddles. Watching them thrive on the farm has become one of our true joys to witness in this lifetime.

Kabre

Has been with our operation for nearly 6 years and he’s known he wanted to be a farmer since long before he started. Kabre is a key component of our technical team, so you’ll likely see him using his auto cad skills to upgrade our equipment, or he’s in a truck and tractor helping deliver the final product. We couldn’t be more proud of the team member he’s become.

Grandpa

Over 50 years of heavy-duty mechanic experience, Jim owned the local ag dealership for over 35 years. We couldn’t be where we are without his experience. Our farm is the home to the products of his hours of contemplation (see 3 baler hitch, re-baler, tiny baler, bundle picking truck, and more). He’s “mostly” retired now, but you can often find him rolling down main street following the kids on his bike, or tinkering in the shop working on his next greatest invention.

The Crew

Ethan, Kyle, Justin, Myles, Izaak, Alberto, and Barrett, are the guys who help fill the barns and make the magic happen. Some have been with us more than 7 years, they bring a collective generation of experience to the team. They are central to our operation and we try our best to treat them well which they, in turn, have also done with us. These fellas know how to run the equipment and know the bale-making process right to its core.

We believe

We believe that everything we do is part of a larger cycle.

The way we manage our soil changes the quality of the bales we produce. Waste from animal consumption and bedding of our bales can be turned back into nutrient-dense amendments for the soil.

We believe this is also true of our relationships with our staff and clients. If we treat our locally hired staff well, then they in turn serve the farm to the best of their ability which allows us to serve our clients better.

We believe that being community-minded and working in tandem with our clients allows us to grow with you when you grow, which leaves us all in a better place than where we started.
